AT&T users might have had first access to Moto Maker, but Verizon users will be the first to see a Moto X software update to Android 4.4 KitKat. Motorola just announced that an update to KitKat is available for Verizon users, starting now.
KitKat brings a host of new features to Android, like an improved phone dialer, new photo gallery effects, keyboard emojis and an updated camera app. It isn’t clear whether the update will be rolled out to all Verizon users at once, or pushed out in phases. To see if the update is available for your phone, go to Settings > About phone > System updates.
As for other carriers, Motorola says “we will have more KitKat for Moto X news to share on other carriers and countries very soon.”
